E-Treks

Diane Stover of Memorial Health System, The Notre Dame Entrepreneurship Society's very first CEO Speaker Series guest, spoke of her great experiences on what her hospital refers to as "Innovisits," trips to innovative companies to learn about best practices and share knowledge. With this concept as inspiration, and looking at a similar program at Stanford, E-Treks was developed to give Notre Dame students the opportunity to gain a behind the scenes perspective on innovation in the business world.

Utilizing the great resources at hand in the greater Chicago area, The Notre Dame Entrepreneurship Society will seek to foster relationships with industry leaders and innovative companies in the area who would be willing to allow club members to visit. These relationships would be advantageous to the society as well as to the companies for recruiting purposes, and provide students with networking resources in addition to the apparent educational value of the program.

The E-Treks group exists to expose members to career opportunities that may be in line with their futures. This project intends on providing students the necessary skills to succeed in the business world. Once per year, the club will send members to Consulting, Private Equity, Venture Capital Firms, and Start-Up firms in order to let them get a feel firsthand for what the industry is like. In addition to trekking to these Entrepreneurial Companies, several senior club leaders will also host an Internship and Resume Training Session for the younger students as well as focus on developing, Notre Dame Alumni Relations, Notre Dame Career Center Relations, and Corporate Relations.

In allowing students to learn by experiencing innovation and entrepreneurship first hand, E-Treks adds an essential ingredient into the society's educational mix.
